The Premier League announced on Tuesday that six positive COVID-19 findings have emerged from a total of 748 checks conducted on Sunday and Monday to players and club workers.
Then, Watford announced on Tuesday night that one player and two staff members had tested positive and will continue self-isolation.
“The Watford Football Club announces that three individuals have been testing positively for the Covid-19 virus during the past 48 hours after checking at the training ground.” the club said in a statement.
“Of these three positive tests, one is a player and two are staff members. All three have requested that medical confidentiality be respected and so the club will not name those involved,” they announced. “All three will self-isolate for seven days-in keeping with the procedures set out in the rules of the Premier League before being re-tested at a later date.”
