Roma and Everton are reported to be going head to head for the signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, Barcelona’s defender, during this summer’s transfer window.
A recent article suggested that Everton was leading the chase for France Under-20 International, but according to Mundo Deportivo, Roma is still looking for his signature.
The Italian outfit signed Carles Perez from the Catalan giants in January and is said to be planning to use their close partnership with the club to conclude a deal for Todibo.
Barcelona, meanwhile, do not appear to be signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Neymar during this summer’s transfer window. They thus seem to have a center-back tag of €25 m (£21.9 m).
The 20-year-old joined Barcelona from Toulouse in January 2019 but struggled to make his mark at Camp Nou, featuring Spanish champions on just five occasions.
Todibo joined Schalke 04 on a loan during the January transfer window and made seven appearances for the German outfit until the bulk of European football was prevented.
