The Times Claims The Premier League Returns on 8th June and Finishes on 27th July

The Premier League could get back to action as soon as June 8 and end on July 27. The English League, according to the newspaper The Times, is close to reaching an agreement with the government to get back to action.

This is after the league met with the government to organize once again when sporting events could take place. The Premier League “is close to reaching an agreement with the government” to restart the competition at the beginning of June and end before the month of August in a report by ‘The Times’.

English football with 10 game weeks left to play stopped on March 13th. Liverpool was on the brink of winning the league title but places in Europe and relegation were still very undecided. A return on June 8th until July 27th would see the remaining 92 matches taking place over a period of 2 months.

It would need to be tested by all coaching staff members, players and referees before any football could return. All matches will be held behind closed doors. The report also suggests that each side will be pocketing £10 m compensation for money lost due to play in empty stadiums.

It would even have to include extending player contracts by another 30 days if this were to happen.
