Southampton are currently seven points clear of the relegation zone with nine games left, placing the club in a good spot when it comes to maintaining their top-flight status.
The Saints, however, may reportedly be in a tough position during the next transfer window, where they may have to make several player sales.
According to the Daily Star, Southampton owner Jisheng Gao is keen to find a buyer for the club’s 80 per cent stake, even though it means selling it at a cut-price fee.
If this does not materialize, it is rumoured this Southampton will have to collect funds by splitting some of their most valuable properties.
The report suggests that a few behind-the-scenes issues may lead to a number of key men being offloaded from the South-coast outfit.
Danny Ings, Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse will all fall into that category, as will Ryan Bertrand who has just over a year left on his contract.
