During Liga MX’s game between Cruz Azul and Toluca, a referee in a Mexican football match made an unintended and potentially game-changing block.
Cruz Azul were pushing for their third goal. After the first attempt to reach a post, they were through on goal after a looped ball over the top.
The ball then bounced back into another attacker’s direction and the referee, Óscar Macías, unintentionally blocked it as he hit it at the goal.
The home side managed to achieve the third goal in the second half after a rallying surge from Toluca to put the score level at 2-2.
