Tottenham Head Coach Says Why Gareth Bale Didn’t Face Everton in FA Cup

Midfielder Gareth Bale has played six games in the EPL this season and scored one goal.

And Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho has explained why the 31-year-old midfielder was not included in the FA Cup squad for the 4-5 win over Everton.

“We had a match against West Bromwich on Sunday, he didn’t play. On Monday I was a bit surprised he wanted to be examined, he was feeling discomfort in his muscles, so he didn’t train on Monday,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.

“On Tuesday, he practiced with the team, but I was informed of his desire to work with the sports medicine department to strengthen the problem area. That’s why he wasn’t [in the squad for the match against Everton].

“I don’t think it’s an obvious, obvious injury. I would say that [he] has a feeling of discomfort and because of that he couldn’t train 100%, but I don’t think we can talk about an injury.

“I am speaking openly and completely honest about this situation.”
