Rivaldo on 1-4 Loss to PSG: Probably Lionel Messi’s Last Home Game for Barcelona in the Champions League

Following the team’s 1-4 defeat to PSG in the opening leg of the Champions League 1/8 final, former Barcelona midfielder Rivaldo has spoken out about the future of Blaugrana forward Lionel Messi.

“This demolition was probably Messi’s last home game for Barcelona in the Champions League,” said Rivaldo to Diario Sport.

“The club cannot give him any hope of fighting for a larger or smaller trophy. Messi’s future is at PSG, especially after seeing them play at the Camp Nou. That team could give him a chance to compete for titles.”

“There are no players in the Barcelona squad who believe in a comeback. The balance of power is impossible to change,” he said.

He added, “Messi has carried responsibility for the team for years. This season, his best teammate left for Atletico. This incomprehensible sale has made the Madrid side stronger than ever.”
