Manchester City Head Coach after 2-0 over Burnley: Gabriel Jesus Played Very Well

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has summed up the results of the 2-0 win over Burnley in round 22 of the EPL.

“Forwards need to score to feel confident. Gabriel Jesus played very well,” said Guardiola to BBC Sport.

About the team’s form, he said: “We had some problems with the first pass, the initial movement. But in the first 15 minutes of the second half, we showed our best football. Alas, we failed to score a 3rd or 4th goal.

“In the last 15 minutes we just passed the ball without any intention to attack. Just for the sake of control.”

“We need to do our job [and not look at Manchester United’s results]. Thinking about other clubs is a big mistake,” he said, about their place in the league.

“When we were in 12th place, we weren’t thinking about winning the APL, we were thinking about getting into the Europe League. So, it’s not about the match series, not the stats. We just have to think about the next game.”
