Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has commented on the 0-1 defeat to Brighton in the 22nd round of the EPL.
“We’re disappointed, there’s not even a reason to smile. It’s hard to take it. Tough week, there were two consecutive intense away matches and today we weren’t fresh enough both mentally and physically,” Klopp said to BBC.
“There were a lot of episodes when we gave the ball too easily to the opponents. We made life easy for Brighton but they also looked good,” he continued.
“Brighton won deservedly, there is no doubt about that. More important for me now is to find the explanation of how that happened and to understand what happened tonight. We looked unconvincing.”
About his own team, he said: “We weren’t fresh enough. We need to deal with that. Every one of our players is capable to play better than today. I know them, it’s not because they didn’t want to. The reason must be different.”
