Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman said to sport.es:
“As far as I’m concerned, we needed reinforcement. In the end it didn’t happen, so we will continue with what we have.
“But I have to say we did need a transfer because of injuries. We were missing people because of injuries of Dest, Araujo, Pique.”
Koeman believes the team needed to strengthen their defense: “We lacked strength in defense, but it’s also true that we couldn’t play many matches with the same bunch of defenders. Our defensive capacity has gone down because of injuries.”
