After his former partner has died, Bayern Munich will be without Jerome Boateng for the near future.

Flick told a news conference: “This has stunned us.

“Jerome came to me and asked me to return home. After a negative [COVID-19] test, he will return home and not be available until further notice.”

Kasia Lenhardt, 25, was found dead on Tuesday in her Berlin apartment. Her death is not being viewed by officials as suspicious.

And after her death, Boateng left the Bayern Munich Club World Cup team to return to Germany.
