According to ESPN, head coach Jose Mourinho’s sacking will cost Tottenham around £30m.
He has a contract with Tottenham until 2023.
And Tottenham head Daniel Levy wants to wait until the end of the season before deciding on the Portuguese specialist’s future.
Mourinho’s future at the club is this unlikely to be decided before May.
Levy does not rule out that Tottenham could repeat the path of Manchester United, with whom Mourinho took the Europa League.
It should be noted that Mourinho has been hired to ensure Tottenham win trophies.
The Londoners are close to doing so – they will play Manchester City in the League Cup final in April.
However, the 58-year-old needs to produce results in the short term as well.
After all, Tottenham are ninth in the EPL after 23 games.
