Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi is close to a move to Schalke, claims Sky Sport journalist Max Bielefeld.
The German footballer has agreed a contract with the Gelsenkirchen club. The deal is for a six-month period.
The English side are reportedly loaning him out with a buyout option for €30m.
It is not specified, though, whether Schalke will buy Mustafi back from Arsenal or whether he will terminate his contract with the Londoners himself.
This would therefore allow Schalke to release 20-year-old Ozan Kabak to Liverpool.
