Savannah Marshall is by far the toughest female boxer in history, says Peter Fury

Female Boxer: According to Peter Fury, the outcome of Savannah Marshall and Claressa Shields’ historic undisputed middleweight title match, may depend on the use of force.

Shields, a highly regarded fighter both in the amateur and professional ranks, will face Marshall, the WBO champion, who also holds the WBC, WBA, and IBF middleweight belts.

Marshall from Britain is thought to be the most aggressive of the two. Shields has only stopped two of her opponents while routinely boxing well, while Marshall has won 10 of her 12 professional fights inside the distance.

Marshall hits with an unmatched force, according to his trainer Peter Fury.

Fury said on Behind the Ropes, which aired on Friday at 10.30 p.m. on Sky Sports Arena and Main Event, “She’s got deadly power in both hands. The absolute toughest female puncher in recorded history, both backward and forward.

“I’ve got somebody who’s six foot, who can make various weights with ease, which is a gift in itself, who’s as bodily strong as some men, with weights, cardio. She’s a gifted athlete. The best of Savannah will be too much for anybody.”
