According to breaking news by local newspaper De Telegraaf, Dutch national team director, Ronald Koeman, was hospitalized due to heart problems.
De Telegraaf has cited ‘family sources’ as saying that he was admitted to the Amsterdam hospital. The article also states that quick action was undertaken by doctors and medical workers at Amsterdam hospital. Consequently, the retired Everton manager is currently in a safe state.
Koeman had a very good career in Catalonia, winning four La Liga titles and the European Cup in 1992.
The 57-year-old was linked with the future with a return to the club as manager. KNVB reported that he has a clause in his contract that will allow him to transfer to Barcelona.
Koeman has stated that despite his interest in the move, he is committed to stay with La Oranje until after the World Cup in 2022.
Updates about his health are expected next week, via the same source.
