RB Leipizig Scored Unexpectedly as Hertha Goalkeeper Netted a Goal Accidently

In the match of the 28th round of the German football championship, RB Leipzig and Berlin’s Hertha played 2-2.

For RB Leipzig it was already the fourth draw in the last five matches. Meanwhile, Hertha remain undefeated in the third game after the resumption of the championship. They celebrated two victories in the first two matches.

RB Leipzig is now in third place with 55 points. Bayern leads the table with 64 points, and Borussia Dortmund is second with 57 points.

The guests took the lead in the 9th minute with a goal by Marko Grujić, and Lukas Klostermann equalized in the 24th minute. Hertha took the lead in the 63rd minute, but played after Marcel Halstenberg was sent off.

Most interestingly, the match was marked by an incredible mistake by the visiting goalkeeper Rune Jarstein.

The Norwegian goalkeeper scored a goal for himself in the 68th minute to give the home team a 2-1 lead. Patrik Schick shot from the edge of the penalty area, Jarstein defended, and then somehow bounced the ball into the net with his right hand. This gave RB Leipzig a surprising extra point.

However, Hertha managed to equalize in the 82nd minute. A foul was committed by Ademola Lookman by knocking down Matheus Cunhu with a careless start. The resulting penalty kick by Krzysztof Piatek gave Hertha their second goal, as they tied with the home team.

Dani Olmo played for the home team until the 58th minute.

Four more games are scheduled tonight.
