Miroslav Klose, World Cup top scorer, has signed a one-year contract with Bayern Munich.
Klose, who racked up a record 16 goals in the World Cups and won the 2014 World Cup with Germany, has been the coach of the Bayern youth team for the last two years since he retired in 2016. Klose has also played in his career for Kaiserslautern, Werder and Lazio in Italy.
He is to be assistant coach to Hansi Flick since the beginning of next season, the German champions announced on their official website on Thursday. Flick was assistant coach to Joachim Loew when Germany won the 2014 World Cup title and Klose reached his record.
“We know each other well from the national team, we trust each other, both professionally and personally. For me, this is the next step in my coaching career”, Klos said for Bild.
