Boston Celtics 99-121 Chicago Bulls
Nikola Vucevic secured a career fourth triple-double of 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists to help the Chicago Bulls cruise past the Boston Celtics. This was the first triple-double for the franchise since Jimmy Butler did so way back in 2017.
Chicago’s Coby White scored 9 out of 16 from the field to finish with 25 points while Zach Lavine scored 25 to lead the Bulls to their second win on the trot. They had lost four games on the spin prior to this. Kemba Walker scored a season-high 33 points but could not help the Celtics overcome the Bulls.
Jason Tatum had a disastrous day from the field making just 3 out of 15 shots and failing to make double figures. Evan Fournier scored 17 points for the Celtics. This was the first game in over a year where the Bulls played in front of their home fans.
Cleveland Cavaliers 90-110 Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic reached a career landmark 5000 points on Friday night as the Dallas Mavericks comfortably beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. He scored 24 points to go with eight rebounds in the process. Doncic became the fourth-youngest NBA player of all time to reach the milestone. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Carmelo Anthony are the only three to have reached the milestone at a younger age.
Tim Hardaway Jr. added 20 points as the Mavericks (39-28) have won nine of their past 12 games. Josh Richardson contributed 18 points for Dallas. The Cavaliers have now lost nine games on the bounce. They will hope to snap their losing streak when they host the Mavericks on Sunday. Collin Sexton and Cedi Osman scored 27 points and 22 points respectively with the latter securing seven assists. Isaac Okoro and Jarrett Allen also scored 15 points and 5 points respectively with the latter accumulating 12 rebounds.
