La Liga plans to restart the 2019/20 campaign on June 12 with the first match being between Sevilla and Real Betis.
builds on Cadena Ser’s initial report that the league plans to get the campaign back on track by mid-June and hopes to complete by the end of July the remaining 11 matches.
Now, it is almost certain that the league will resume with the Sevilla derby being staged on Friday night (June 12).
Sporting director Monchi from Sevilla has said: “There is no better way to get La Liga back than this derby. It will be another incentive, as we all look forward to the return of football and that first match will be magnificent.
“Spanish football has been suspended indefinitely since mid-March and stopped just before the scheduled Seville derby at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan stadiu in Sevilla.”
