Korea Open 2022: The second-round match between top seed Casper Ruud and qualifier Nicolas Jarry gave the 2022 ATP Korea Open some momentum. In front of a large audience in Seoul, Ruud faced the Chilean and looked to be cruising into the quarterfinals after winning the first set 6-2.
The Norwegian lost the second set 3-6 due to a little mental slip-up but recovered in the third set to win the match 6-2, 3-6, 6-3. Kim Seok-jin, better known by his stage as Jin, a member of the boy band BTS and a K-pop superstar, was present among the hundreds of Korean admirers that were watching.
Videos and pictures of Jin during the event quickly went viral on social media because to the excitement of many k-pop fans to see one of their favourite artists having fun in his everyday life.
Given the astounding level of popularity K-pop stars enjoy around the world, Jin also elicited raucous applause from the stadium’s attendees when he was featured on the big screen.

Casper Ruud will encounter in the 2022 Korea Open quarterfinals after defeating Nicolas Jarry. The unseeded Japanese star advanced over compatriot Taro Daniel in the second round to confront World No. 2 after defeating fifth seed Dan Evans in the opening round.
In their one prior encounter on the ATP Tour, Ruud prevailed against Nishioka, winning their match at the 2021 Madrid Open in straight sets. He would face either Mackenzie McDonald or Aleksandar Kovacevic in the semifinals if he defeated the Japanese on Friday.
Casper Ruud will win his fourth championship of the year and tenth of his career if he prevails on Sunday in Seoul. The Norwegian has already won prizes in 2022 at Gstaad, Geneva, and Buenos Aires, so the Korea Open victory might be his first non-clay victory of the year.
