Kante Not Pressured to Resume Training after Coronavirus Scare

Chelsea apparently did not put any pressure on N’Golo Kante to return to training after the midfielder had been given compassionate leave over coronavirus fears.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues completely embraced Kante’s decision to avoid training so as to protect himself and his family.

Kante took part in the training on Tuesday, when a number of Premier League clubs resumed non-contact sessions, more than two months after COVID-19 suspended the initiative.

However, Chelsea Chief Frank Lampard allowed France International to skip the following sessions on Wednesdays and Thursdays because of concerns about the spread of the disease to his family. They did not set a timetable for his return to group training.

Premier League clubs are working towards a return to competitive action on 12 June, despite the concerns raised by a number of figures in the game.
