Ixente Lizarazu issued a warning about the situation of Antoine Griezmann in Barcelona.
After all, his compatriot is struggling to find his confidence and his place on the pitch after joining Blaugrana from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2019.
Indeed, the French forward did not start in Barcelona’s last two games, which ended in a midweek 5-1 home win over Ferencvaros and a 3-1 loss at the hands of Real Madrid at Camp Nou on Saturday.
“Griezmann is great,” Lizarazu told Telefoot. “He is a very, very good player and he is fantastic for France. But he is not [good] at all for Barcelona.
“He has a real problem. He went to Barcelona with the dream of playing with Lionel Messi, but unfortunately, there is no technical relationship between the two.
“Griezmann cannot find his position; he can no longer play football with Barcelona. It is a crisis of confidence.
“At some point, it is better to cut off his hand than his entire arm. He should not hesitate to leave when he cannot find his place. Eighteen months have passed, not just two. The situation is really critical.”
