Nelly Korda heads into the first major of the year, the ANA Inspiration without too much pressure and a relaxed mindset. She has been grouped with Mel Reid for the first two rounds. Last year she narrowly missed out on a maiden major win after she lost out in a playoff hole to Mirim Lee. Korda is determined to land her maiden major win but says she is fairly relaxed and treating the ANA Inspiration as just another stop on the tour.
“I feel like a lot of people put a lot of pressure on themselves when it comes to major championships,” said Korda. “I have learned to put the same mindset to every tournament and not put so much pressure on them. You want to win, but I feel like people get in their heads when they get to a major.”
“It comes from experience and learning what works best for me. Try to keep it more relaxed because there’s a lot more pressure that comes with a major. The more relaxed you are, the more you’re enjoying yourself and I feel like the better it will be.” she added.
