As part of their bumper 2022 programme, the Ladies European Tour will feature more events than ever before, as well as a record-breaking prize pool.
Over the course of the season, a minimum of €24.5 million will be available, up more than 20% from last year and more than double the annual purse offered in 2019 – the last campaign not affected by Covid-19 cancellations.
Over the course of ten months, players will participate in 31 events in 21 nations, with the season kicking off with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open on February 10-13.
“On the heels of a fantastic 2021 season, which featured 23 tournaments, 2022 is going to be a record-breaking year for the LET, with the largest total purse and number of events in history,” stated Alexandra Armas, CEO of the Ladies European Tour.
“We’ll be launching new events in Asia and South Africa, as well as returning to other regions around Europe and further afield, so our international membership is looking quite promising.”
“We’ve never received such overwhelming support from industry and corporate partners that understand the benefit of investing in the LET.” Our athletes continue to raise the bar on their performance. As we enter the third year of our successful joint-venture agreement with the LPGA, we are grateful to all of our partners.”
The Madrid Ladies Open, Mithra Belgian Open, and Women’s Irish Open are among the events returning to the Ladies European Tour calendar in 2022, as are back-to-back events in South Africa and consecutive tournaments in Australia.
The Aramco Team Series has expanded its schedule to include five tournaments, while the prize purse for the Trust Golf Women’s Scottish Open, which takes place the week between the Evian Championship and the AIG Women’s Open, has been upped by 33% to $2 million.
For the first time, two new sites will host LET events: the lands Golf Club for the land 100 Ladies Open and Barrière Golf Club in Deauville for the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, with the Andalucia Costa del Sol Open de Espaa hosting the Race to Costa del Sol season finale once again.
The top three finishers on the official standings will share a bonus pool of €250,000, with awards of €125,000, €75,000, and €50,000 for first, second, and third place, respectively.
