Tottenham Can Pay Only £17 Million of Carlos Vinicius’ £36 Million Release Clause

Though Tottenham Hotspur are allegedly interested in signing Carlos Vinicius from Benfica on a permanent basis, they are unable to pay his £36 million release clause.

Instead, Tottenham has told Benfica that a fee of £17 million is the most they can do this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

So, while Spurs have the option to buy the Benfica loanee permanently this summer, his £36 million buyout clause is too high for Jose Mourinho’s side to accept.

Vinicius he has shone in the Europa League, scoring six goals and assisting three times in eight games.

In comparison to the prolific Harry Kane, the 25-year-old has failed to make an impact in the Premier League, however.
