SC Braga have signed Sikou Niakaté from Guingamp on a season long loan, with an option to buy. The clause becomes obligatory if the defender appears in half of the fixtures.
The club announced: “Sikou Niakaté is the new signing of SC Braga. The central defender arrives from Guingamp on loan until the end of the season, with an option to buy 1.8 million euros, which is mandatory if the player fulfills 50 percent of the official games in 2022/23. If this clause is exercised, the French under-20 international will sign a five-year contract with Braga.”
Niakaté, following the processes mentioned: “I am very happy and very anxious to start this new project. Braga is a great club and I am very excited to be able to start in this team. I know that Braga is the right step for me and to be able to start here is great.
“There aren’t many centre-backs playing with their left foot and I can help cover the game on this side.
“I saw SC Braga playing in the Europa League and it was a team that I really liked. It was truly a pleasure to see her play and that’s what made me want to join the team.
“Play as many games as possible, be important to the team and win as many trophies as possible.
“I feel very honored to be part of your project and look forward to meeting you. Let’s go Braga.”
