Thiago Alcantara looks likely to leave Bayern Munich, according to CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
Asked regarding Thiago in an interview with Welt am Sonntag, Rummenigge replied: “It looks like he’s going to leave us. It was crucial to him that he proved that he can perform well in the big games. When it comes to that, it’s a finish that hurts a bit. I expect a bid for him in the next few days.”
Thiago helped Bayern in a treble-winning campaign as they won the Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal and Champions League under Hansi Flick.
Liverpool was closely connected to a deal for Thiago, but this week Rummenigge said Bayern had not had any contact from the champions of the Premier League.
Nonetheless, Rummenigge is expecting a deal in the coming days for the midfielder.
