Ralf Suffers a Blow before Even Starting as United’s Interim Manager

Manchester United confirmed the appointment of their new interim manager – German coach Ralf Rangnick (football transfers) – on Monday. And Old Trafford expect the German to take charge until the end of the current season. However, already, he has met with a setback. So, after his appointment for the 2021-22 season (football news), Ralf suffers a blow before even starting as United’s interim manager.

Manchester United confirmed on Monday that Germany native Ralf Rangnick is to take charge at Old Trafford.

And Manchester United fans have peaked in their excitement because their beloved club may be embarking upon a new era.

Rangnick would assume the reins only as an interim manager and only until the end of the season, however, after which United offered him a move into a consultancy role with the club.

Nonetheless, this new appointment is sure to bring many changes at Old Trafford.

The new, German, boss is going to assess the current playing staff in the next few weeks.

But it’s not all well – because Ralf Rangnick has already encountered his first blow as the new Manchester United manager.

Rangnick has hit a road block before he’s even officially taken charge of the Red Devils.

In an upsetting development, Manchester United have told Ralf Rangnick that he will not be able to appoint Lars Kornetka.

Rangnick wanted to bring Kornetka – his former right-hand man – from Moscow, Russia, to Manchester, as his assistant at Old Trafford.

Instead, Lars Kornetka, who worked with Rangnick at Locomotiv Moscow, will be replacing his former boss at that Russian club itself.

So, Kornetka is due to become Locomotiv Moscow’s new Head of Sports and Development, succeeding Rangnick.

The pair have previously also worked together at Hoffenheim, Schalke and RB Leipzig.

But Rangnick will now have to find another backroom team member to help implement his managing methods at Old Trafford.
