Premier League Football News – Chelsea Suffered Another Draw

Coach Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea produced one more disappointing performance as they were held to a 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers. After they tied 1-1 with Everton in the midweek Premier League football news, Chelsea suffered another draw at the Molineux Stadium on Sunday.

The Blues fielded a depleted side on Sunday with eight senior players missing after injury or testing positive for COVID-19. They thus named just four outfield players on the bench. An hour ahead of kickoff, they confirmed that the Premier League had rejected a request to postpone the match.

Chelsea then struggled against a spirited Wolves side, who will also face disappointment after coming away with just one point.

On the other hand, this 0-0 result sees Chelsea drop to six points adrift of Premier League title-defenders Manchester City.

The hosts dominated the majority of the match but lacked the cutting edge in attack.

Meanwhile, Thomas Tuchel’s side’s best chance came from a second-half strike from Christian Pulisic. But Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa excellently saved this attempt.

Wolves started strongly and appeared to go ahead in the 14th minute as Daniel Podence slotted home a Marcal cross. But referees disallowed the strike after they ruled it out for an offside because Raul Jimenez interfered with play.

The hosts continued to cause problems for Chelsea throughout the half as Jimenez and Leander Dendoncker both almost scored goals.

To the contrary, the visitors struggled to create chances for themselves at the other end of the pitch.

Chelsea showed much improvement after the break, but failed to challenge Sa until Pulisic’s chance in the 78th minute.
