Ousmane Dembele’s future remains a dubious subject at Camp Nou, and the forward’s agent, Moussa Sissoko, has addressed contract discussions. In doing so, Ousmane Dembele’s agent takes a dig at Barcelona, questioning the club’s recent use of the France international.

The World Cup winner is continuing to run down his current deal at Camp Nou. And he will become a free agent in the summer if the two parties don’t agree on an extension soon.

Talks have dragged on for some time, though, without compromise as yet; rumours of football transfers and ultimatums persist instead.

Amidst all this, Dembele’s agent has suggested that they’re seeking greater support from club bosses, who clearly want him here.

After all, Barcelona rushed the talented 24-year-old back into the team following a bout of coronavirus (football news).

The attacker recorded a positive COVID-19 test in late December. This forced him to sit out Barca’s first outing of 2022 while serving a period of self-isolation.

However, Barcelona then immediately returned Dembele to the fold for a Copa del Rey clash with Linares. And he even recorded an important goal in a 2-1 win after Xavi introduced him as a substitute at half-time.

He was then part of the starting line-up in a 1-1 draw with Granada last time out. Now, he is among the travelling party that has headed to Saudi Arabia for a Supercopa de Espana clash with Clasico rivals Real Madrid.

Moussa Sissoko, who manages Dembele’s career, told L’Equipe of a long-running saga in Catalunya: “Everyone talks about money. But it’s not only money for us.

“Also the management with the player day to day is very important. How can he play right after getting Covid without even training?”
