Manchester United Have Updated Fans on Lindelof’s Health Status

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was ‘struggling to breathe’ during Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Norwich City. After he was forced off the pitch, among other football news, Manchester United have updated fans on Lindelof’s health status.

With 20 minutes to go in the weekend match against Norwich, the Sweden international went down on his own behalf. There were seemingly, after all, no other players in close proximity.

Due to this alarming collapse, he was swiftly taken out of the action by the Manchester United assistance team.

All this happened only shortly before Cristiano Ronaldo put his side ahead from the penalty spot.

And now, the Red Devils have delivered a more comprehensive and insightful update on Victor Lindelof’s condition.

The Swedish centre-back was taken off the pitch at Carrow Road, and United now fill us in on his health.

Lindelof is still undergoing medical checks in a bid to nurse him back to full health, per his Manchester club.

A statement from the club reads: “Victor is currently undergoing a series of precautionary investigations however he has recovered well from the episode he experienced in the match against Norwich.

The Red Devils are, however, confident that the health issue he experienced is entirely separate to the coronavirus struggles currently being endured:

“All indications are that this is not linked to any Covid outbreak within the club.”

United have, indeed, postponed their next fixture due to a COVID-19 outbreak in their camp. This Premier League match was due to take place against Brentford on Tuesday.
