Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola, formerly Barcelona coach, has spoken out about the case dubbed “Barcagate”.
“For me, this is the best club in the world for sentimental reasons,” said Guardiola to The Athletic.
He has also shared his thoughts on the detention of former club president Josep Bartomeu.
“I know it’s an unpleasant situation. I hope it ends well. Bartomeu cannot be considered guilty until the court proves him guilty,” he said.
He went on to say: “The only thing that worries me now is that we will have a new president in a week. I want to congratulate all three candidates for this campaign.
“Of course, the whole world is in a difficult situation, and Barcelona in particular. For many reasons, of which everyone is aware. These people have the courage to manage the club in the coming years.
“I hope as many people as possible take part in the vote and elect the right president to run this incredible club.”
