Key players of Liverpool might leave if the team fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
And Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has spoken out over the possible departure of these players.
“I understand such questions and I respect them, but we don’t have to worry about that now. It always has been and always will be,” Klopp said at the press conference.
“I know that our players are loyal to us. There is no such thing that some player suddenly declares: ‘If there is no Champions League, I will have to leave.’
“That will not happen. I know them well enough to be sure of that. There will be no such problem.
“A few years ago we said that if a player doesn’t want to come to us because we don’t play in the Champions League, then we don’t want that player either.
“And if a player wants to leave because we won’t be in the Champions League, I don’t want him. It’s nothing personal, but it always has been and always will be.
“You always have to pick the right squad for certain tasks and if you have it, there is nothing to worry about.”
