Philippe Coutinho will have his chance to shine in a Barcelona shirt this season. After him and Alex Collado remained safe from football transfers, now, Koeman will give Coutinho a fresh start at Barcelona.
Since his 2018, €130-million move from Liverpool to Barcelona, Philippe Coutinho has had a difficult time at the Catalan club.
Indeed, the Brazilian has struggled to make an impact at Barcelona. The fact that he had to cut his last season short due to a knee injury did not help either.
In fact, Coutinho’s most successful season arriving at Camp Nou was on a loan spell away. He excelled on a loan deal with Bayern Munich, with whom he won the 2019-20 season of the Champions League.
Koeman Will Give Coutinho a Fresh Start at Barcelona
Phillipe Coutinho also spent much of the summer on the sidelines as a result of the injury.
However, he is now back to full fitness – but not exactly match-ready – and Ronald Koeman will give him a chance.
Given Coutinho’s injury problems and less-than-stellar form, it was well-known that Barcelona would be unable to sell him this summer.
But it does not matter because Coutinho’s Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, is a fan of the midfielder, according to Sport.
Sport have reported that Koeman gave Coutinho 10 starts in 14 games before he suffered a knee injury last season.
As of yet, it’s unclear when Coutinho will join the team this season as he works on his match fitness.
But regardless of the timeline of his recovery from injuries and return to form, his time at Barcelona is not up.
Indeed, it appears to be far from over, irrespective of how dismally his time at Barcelona has gone so far.
