Barcelona’s management are interested in signing striker Sergio Agüero. But Catalans coach Ronald Koeman doesn’t want Agüero at Barcelona.
Koeman is opposed to a deal for Agüero, who has announced he will leave Manchester City in the summer.
According to Diario Sport, the 58-year-old has not changed his stance on the Argentine striker.
Coach Koeman doesn’t want Agüero at Barcelona.
Instead, Koeman prefers 32-year-old forward Memphis Depay from Lyon.
Depay will also become a free agent this summer.
The coach is convinced that Depay will adapt better to Barcelona’s system of play.
Furthermore, the 25-year-old forward can be used in a variety of positions, something Koeman also likes.
But, there are links between Agüero and Barcelon. And Catalan management are not entirely averse to the idea.
The Catalans want two new strikers. And signing Agüero or Depay is reportedly independent of the club’s desire to acquire Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.
