Goal has just revealed that Juventus will renew Alvaro Morata’s loan from Atletico Madrid.
Juventus have elected to extend the loan deal of Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata for a second season.
Morata arrived for a second spell at the Turin giants last summer on a temporary basis. And has since played some of his best football with them, despite some health scares.
As part of his loan deal, Juventus have the option to extend his deal by a year or buy the Spain international.
And while they can also terminate the agreement this summer, Juventus will renew Alvaro Morata’s loan from Atletico Madrid.
So, Juve have elected to keep hold of the 28-year-old forward. The deal for Morata will cost them a further €10 million (£8.5m/$12m).
Morata and Juve
Morata will spend another season in Serie A, with the Turin side willing to pay €10 million for his services.
Juventus, whose financial difficulties are well known, tried to secure a discount on the loan fee for the striker.
However, Atletico Madrid rejected that attempt, with Juve finally conceding to pay the full amount.
The 28-year-old forward has been impressive in front of goal with Juventus last season. After all, he scored 20 goals in 44 outings.
Furthermore, the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri has furthered the cause of this deal.
This is because Allegri has previously worked with Morata and got very good results with him.
Additionally, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea hitman himself has a strong desire to stay with the Turin side.
Morata will grant Juve a sense of continuity in their squad, despite the new cycle that they are working towards.
Meanwhile, due to the limiting economical parameters at Juventus, Allegri is returning to the squad at a difficult moment.
Though, they have qualified for next season’s Champions League, which was secured on the final day of the season.
The revenue this qualification will bring them should mean that there is greater financial flexibility for Allegri to work within.
