After we covered his teammate Son Heung Min in today’s football news, we bring you news of Tottenham Hotspur’s vice-captain. Harry Kane has offered an American couple tickets to a future Tottenham match.
This couple from the U.S. flew to England specifically to watch Tottenham vs Burnley live on Saturday. However, the two teams had to postpone the game due to heavy snow, which rendered the lovebird fans’ trip void.
It’s become increasingly common for hardcore football fans in the U.S. to make the trek across the Atlantic. They travel to watch their favourite clubs for the first time, and often that’s the entire point of the journey.
Weather in England seldom cooperates this time of year, though, making these expensive trips from United States completely futile.
Indeed, the U.S. couple may not be the only ones to experience a match cancellation this winter after cross-globe travels.
Harry Kane Has Offered an American Couple Tickets
Harry Kane found out about the couple via a social media message about their travels.
And the Spurs striker tweeted an invite to host them if they come to England again.
“Just been sent this tweet and absolutely gutted for you!” Kane wrote on Twitter. “For your commitment and to make up for the match being called off I’d like to invite you to a home game as my guest when you’re next in London.”

Kane’s invite comes after Tottenham manager Antonio Conte also thanked Spurs supporters. The coach expressed gratitude for fans’ patience when Premier League called the weekend clash due to the extreme weather.
Earlier this weekend, Conte said to all travelling fans: “We know that you had a long journey to come to Burnley and watch the game. Thank you for this. We are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday.”
