Football Transfers – Saul Niguez Will Wear Number 17 at Chelsea
Cheslea have confirmed on their official website that Saul will wear the number 17 shirt during his loan with them.
The London club have thus confirmed that Saul will retain a familiar number – 17. After all, that was the number he wore during his first two seasons at Atletico Madrid.
Funnily, Mateo Kovacic, the last Chelsea player to wear the number 17, will surely compete with Saul. They will, each of them, vie for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea starting lineups in the ongoing 2021-22 season.
Saul could make his Chelsea debut after the international break against Aston Villa in the Premier League on September 11.
