However, PSG have since revealed that Messi suffered a bone contusion on his left knee.

The injury has already compelled the six-time Ballon d’Or winner to miss Wednesday’s match against Metz. Still, reports in media thought the problem to be a minor one.

However, now, Spanish medical outlet Mejor con Salud reports that Messi’s knee injury could keep him out for several weeks.

And so, it may be a more serious injury than we first anticipated because it has flared up since weeks.

Furthermore, this bruising has put the attacker at risk of more serious injuries that could keep him out for months.

In light of all this, Messi will undergo more tests on the issue this week.

But already, he’s a major doubt for next week’s Champions League match against Manchester City at the Parc des Princes.

Since his emotional departure from Camp Nou, the former Barcelona man has yet to find his feet in Paris.

For one, he has not yet registered any goals or assists in his first three games under Pochettino.
