Liverpool Football Club are eager to sign an extension with Sadio Mane. According to Nicolo Schira, in fact, the club is currently in talks with him over the new deal until 2025. So, among other of today’s football news, Liverpool are planning Mane’s contract extension and will likely finalize it very soon.
As we already know, Liverpool prioritized contract extensions and player sales within existing players over new football transfers this summer.
And, after many big names have renewed their deals with Liverpool, it is 29-year-old midfielder Sadio Mane’s turn now, finally.
Mane has already scored 2 goals in 4 Premier League appearances in this new 2021-22 season alone.
But the Senegalese’s current contract with the Reds, which he signed back in 2018, expires in the summer of 2023.
Football News – Liverpool Are Planning Mane’s Contract Extension
Still, Reds fans need not worry just yet, because Liverpool are reportedly in the process of renewing Sadio Mane’s contract.
They want the midfielder to commit his long-term future to the club until 2025. Such a four-year contract extension, of which Schira exclusively reports, means that he’ll possibly remain at Anfield until he’s 34.
Actually, Liverpool have been trying to get the Senegalese star to extend his contract for the last two years now.
In fact, Jurgen’s Klopp side are reportedly even willing to offer him a £200,000-a-week raise.
But, thus far, Mane has avoided any attempts by the Premier League giants and refused to sign a new contract.
However, in some encouraging news for the Reds, the 29-year-old Mane did recently claim that he’s happy with the club.
He said: “I am happy, I am really enjoying sharing the pitch with my team-mates for Liverpool Football Club.
“Being together with my team-mates always gives me high energy.”
Of late, Liverpool have also been eagerly trying to tie down Mane’s strike partner Mo Salah to a new contract.
