Former Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has declared his Roma squad. In football, live today, Mourinho has decided his pre-season Roma team ahead of the new season. The new coach, who replaced Paulo Fonseca, officially took charge yesterday and he held a press conference to introduce himself.
If his select roster of players participating in pre-season are indicative, he is leading the team in a new direction.
Federico Fazio, Santon, William Bianda, Pastore, Steven Nzonzi, Uros Coric, Pedro, and Kluivert are among those who have been omitted. These players are thus on the transfer market because they are not part of Mourinho’s plans.
Pedro Rodriguez, Justin Kluivert, Davide Santon, and Javier Pastore were also not in Jose Mourinho’s Roma team for pre-season training.
Alessandro Florenzi and Bryan Cristante are both competing for Italy at UEFA’s Euro 2020. Naturally, therefore, they are not part of Mourinho’s new Roma squad. (Italy are in the finals after beating Spain with a football match score of 4-2.)
Lastly, Leonardo Spinazzola is also out, because he’s in recovery for seven to nine months following an Achilles tendon surgery.
Meanwhile, Mourinho has included Nicol Zaniolo, who suffered two terrible knee injuries in the previous year. The new Roma coach has selected him, though, because he has now made full recovery.
