Milan’s first Champions League home game since 2014 ended in a heartbreaking 2-1 loss to Atletico Madrid. Though, the La Liga champions were actually playing against a team with just 10 men for most of the game. So, among other Champions League football news, Atletico Madrid beat Milan 1-2 away after AC Milan had one man down.

Elsewhere, in the Champions League, an injury-hit Borussia Dortmund side comfortably secured a second successive three points in Group C.

For a Champions League group stage fixture on Tuesday night, Dortmund beat Sporting CP 1-0 at Signal Iduna Park.

Dortmund went into the game missing goalscoring sensation Erling Haaland, as well as Giovanni Reyna, Emre Can, and Dan-Axel Zagadou.

Those absences, however, would ultimately be meaningless, because the Bundesliga giants managed to win nonetheless.

After a sloppy first 35 minutes, England international Jude Bellingham slid Donyell Malen through. The Dutchman sprinted clear to roll a perfect finish into the corner for his first goal for the club.

In Group A, meanwhile, RB Leipzig is still without a single Champions League point. After all, they lost 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena by Club Brugge.

After only five minutes, Leipzig took the lead through Christopher Nkunku. But Brugge turned the game around before halftime thanks to Hans Vanaken and Mats Rits.

Rafael Leao of Portugal scored the game’s first goal, for Milan to gain the lead, but teammate Franck Kessie was sent off soon after for two minor bookable offences.

With just a few minutes remaining, Antoine Griezmann equalized for Atletico Madrid, however.

And then finally, Luis Saurez’s stoppage-time penalty gave Atleti, who essentially came back from behind, all three points.

The Results:

AC Milan 1 – 2 Atl. Madrid

Borussia Dortmund 1 – 0 Sporting

RB Leipzig 1 – 2 Club Brugge
