On the other hand, Freiburg have suffered their second defeat in a row. They remain at third place in the table, 6 points behind the leading Bayern Munich.

Hoping to ease the growing pressure on manager Oliver Glasner, the visitors started the match very enthusiastically.

Indeed, Jesper Lindstrøm even forced Mark Flekken into a shrewd save in the 12th minute.

Then, in the 43rd minute, another goal from the guests tore Christian Streich’s half down to absolute pieces.

Filip Kostic’s long-range free-kick went past helpless Freiburg goalie and the visitors doubled their lead.

They were in pursuit of becoming the first club to win at the Europa-Park Stadion.

Then, at the start of the second half, hosts Freiburg were inches away from scoring themselves. Nicolas Höfler cannoned the header off the post but it was in vain.

And though the hosts continued to press for a breakthrough, they failed to add their names on the scoreboard completely.
