Barcelona Transfer News – Dembele and Roberto May Leave in a Swap Deal
So, now, the Catalans only need to get Dembele and Roberto to agree to a move to Manchester City.
Both these players’ respective Barca deals expire in the summer of 2022. Therefore, they will be free to negotiate transfers as free agents in January.
Actually, City manager Pep Guardiola has long wanted to sign Roberto because he likes his tactical skills. Pep is also in awe of his ability to play in different positions.
Meanwhile, convincing Dembele to agree to a move to Manchester City will be more difficult.
As Barca suspects, the player wants to wait for his current deal to expire. Only then does he play on moving to a new club as a free agent.
The Frenchman’s agent will meet with the club’s management today, however, and that could seriously influence a possible swap deal.
