Tottenham has had frequent talks with Flamengo midfielder Gerson’s entourage, confirms Goal, with the Premier League side willing to bid £ 16 million ($20 m) for the signing of the 23-year-old.
the player himself, however, appears to be determined to stay in his home country to continue his growth under Jorge Jesus, who recently signed a one-year contract extension. The midfielder is eager to maintain his successful run under his new coach in an attempt to get a call-up from the national team of Brazil.
On top of that, The Brazilian club too, is acknowledged to have no intention of selling one of their star men.
Gerson and Flamengo have no issues with the decision to continue their run together.
It therefore seems like the player won’t rush to secure a move to Europe. As such, Spurs’ £16m offer would not be approved.
