Virat Kohli has said that the bio-secure bubbles are not sustainable and changes need to be made to decrease the mental toll on players. Kohli comments are just before the players embark on another two-month spell in a bubble for the Indian Premier League.
“As I said, a couple of days ago as well, scheduling is something that needs to be looked at in the future,” Kohli said. “Because playing in bubbles for so long, two-three months is going to be very, very difficult going forward.”
Kohli is worried since Indian players have been hopping from one bubble to another during the last few months since the last Indian Premier League in UAE in September. They had to stay in two more bubbles during the Tours of Australia and England.
“You can’t expect everyone to be at the same level of mental strength,” he added. “Sometimes you do get cooked, and you do feel like a bit of change. I’m sure that things will be discussed and things will change in the future as well.”
