The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering adding two new teams to the IPL 2022, according to reports (IPL). IPL franchises and executives have already arrived in the UAE for Phase 2 of the IPL 2021, which will begin on September 19.
Two IPL teams are expected to come from Ahmedabad, Lucknow, or Pune, according to sources
According to recent rumours, the Indian board of directors is considering expanding the competition to include two more teams. According to PTI, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, or Pune might be the home cities for the two new IPL franchises. The BCCI has also fixed a foundation fee for the new franchises of INR 2000 crore.
“The 10 team IPL will roll on from next year, and the bidding process and finalisation of the new franchises would be done by the month of May this year,” a top BCCI source told Times Now when questioned about the 10-team league. Once the teams have been formed, they can begin their operational task, which will take some time.”

Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Punjab Kings are among the IPL franchisees who have already arrived in the UAE to prepare for the much-anticipated resumption of the tournament. The mega-event will kick off with an El Clasico match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, which will take place 19 days from today.
