The IPL 2021 second leg is about to begin. With only six days till the beginning of the cash-rich competition, the supporters’ anticipation is palpable. The players, too, appear ecstatic to be on the field. All of the teams have arrived in the UAE and are getting ready for the competition. The players were flown to their respective teams a few days earlier after the last Test between India and England was cancelled.

Virat Kohli, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and pacer Mohammad Siraj arrived in Dubai on Sunday morning and are currently completing the required six-day quarantine. RCB uploaded a video of their players’ journey from Manchester to Dubai, which included a short speech from them, as franchises now allow fans to have a sneak glimpse into the team’s occurrences. Virat Kohli spoke about his journey and how excited he is to play in the UAE after arriving in Dubai.

Kohli said he has been in touch with everyone and has kept himself updated on who is coming and who is not in the RCB camp when asked about the replacements. He went on to say that while they will miss the important players, the replacements have excellent skill sets as well. “Our main players will be missed, and they are family members, but the newcomers have excellent skill sets, especially under these situations. So I’m really looking forward to seeing them,” Kohli remarked.

This time the cup is for the RCB team?

RCB has brought in some excellent alternatives, as Kohli noted. For the Red Army, the halting of the first phase has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Wanindu Hasaranga, the No. 2 T20I bowler, has taken Adam Zampa’s slot. Tim David, who has been in outstanding form with the bat, has also been called up to the RCB team. Kane Richardson has been replaced by England’s George Garton, while Daniel Sams has been replaced by Dushmanta Chameera. During the Hundred, Garton looked good, while Chameera’s fast bowling has the capacity to rush the batters.

RCB performed admirably in the first phase, finishing third in the points standings with five wins from seven games. Their bowling has been their main worry over the years, but the current lineup with Harshal Patel, Mohmmad Siraj, Chahal, and Hasaranga seems promising.
