While the Indian Premier League is reaching its conclusion, with only three teams remaining and a finalist poised to face the other team in the title match on October 15, the enthusiasm around T20 cricket is expected to continue. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will pit teams from around the world against one another for the ultimate title of world champions in this format.

Several teams have announced new jerseys ahead of the world tournament, and Team India is the most recent addition to the list. MPL Sports, India’s official kit sponsor, has unveiled the new Men in Blue jersey that the Virat Kohli-led team will wear in the world event, which will be held in Oman and the UAE. While the Blue – which has retained the team’s identity – remains, the new jersey also features the blue colour seen in India’s most recent T20 jersey.

Team India has already clinched a Super 12 ticket in the competition due to their ranking in the top eight in the ICC Rankings. As a result, they will open their T20 World Cup campaign on October 24 against archrivals Pakistan at the Dubai International Stadium.

The mind games leading up to the headline event have already begun, and former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has stated that India has no chance of competing with the talent in the Men in Green, which is why the Indian squad does not play bilateral cricket with them.

While Razzaq’s statement may be intended to put further pressure on India, India’s World Cup record versus Pakistan speaks for itself. The Indian squad has not lost a single match against Pakistan in the World Cup, whether T20 or 50 overs and will want to maintain their unblemished record against their neighbouring country.

Babar Azam’s Pakistan, on the other side, would be seeking to duplicate their performance from the 2017 Champions Trophy final, in which they defeated India by a landslide.

Overall, the stage is perfect for a blockbuster fight in Dubai.
