Cricket News: While the news of New Zealand pulling out of the Pakistan tour due to a serious security threat caused a lot of concern in the international cricket community, it also led to a lot of speculation as to what inspired the Black Caps to make such a drastic decision so quickly.
While New Zealand Cricket did not disclose any details, Pakistan’s Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, said in a press conference on Wednesday that there was a threat, but it came from a false account belonging to a militant group called ‘Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan.’
After additional consideration, he determined that the threat originated in India and was perpetrated by a man called Om Prakash Mishra. It is the name of the musician whose song ‘Bol Na Aunty Aaun kya’ went viral on social media.
Take a look at the details as disclosed by Fawad Chaudhry:

Following the cancellation of New Zealand’s tour, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) also cancelled their trip to the South Asian country. Former and current Pakistani cricketers have been justifiably critical of New Zealand’s gesture.
New Zealand did not complete their tour, despite assurances from former Pakistan cricket captain and current Prime Minister Imran Khan, and instead travelled to Dubai ahead of the T20 World Cup. Meanwhile, West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who is with the Punjab Kings in the UAE, sent out a joyful tweet not only expressing his readiness to travel to Pakistan but also asking who would accompany him.
His tweet became so popular that it was shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Many cricketers, notably Mohammad Hafeez and Mohammad Amir, responded to the Jamaican’s generous offer.
“@henrygayle, thank you for joining us. Lots of love from Pakistan to you, you are a great champion “Hafeez said.
